Wizards Wrap Up Camp

The Washington Wizards wrapped up training camp and the Inaugural celebration this year for new owner Ted Leonsis and rookie John Wall this weekend at George Mason University.

The final day concluded with a Fan Fest followed by a scrimmage that the public were allowed access to. Of course their are some valuable points to take from all this Hoop-La that has surrounded the Wizards organization in a sense that there is a new found energy with the team.

One important note is that their has finally been some excitement about the season without a certain amount of expectation. In years before with the the the big little three, Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler, and Antawn Jamison the fans would always put the Wizards on a petistle believing that these guys would lead them deep in the playoffs and each year was a disappointment or more appropriate #epicfail as the twitter world would say.

There are better days on the horizon though my Bullets fans!

With all the new faces, and fresh opportunities for young guys the team is sure to develop into at least a contender in what was an already weak and just got weaker Eastern Conference. All we need is for players to perform! 2 players in particular are getting a close eye from me and thats the boys on the block Andray Blatche, 24 and JaVale McGee, 22.

These guys are the MVP’s of off season hype and the MVP’s of in season letdowns. Enough is enough with the underachieving. The team is finally built for these young guys to improve and make names for themselves in the league. The only thing stopping them is there own work ethic. Andray is known around the DMV to party and I understand that but to be a celebrity, you have to actually be important and right now he’s just trade bait. Showing glimpses of athleticism and scoring ability isn’t enough.

The Wizards need Consistency!

The new Gil seems ready to go, the Rook seems ready, and Flip is excited. Stay tuned, its only a matter of time before we see what a NBA Midnight Madness can do for a team in the nations capital.

The Wizards first preseason game is on Tuesday against the Dallas Mavericks where they face the Ol dudes Caron and Brendan!
